Engineering: E.J. Richards Library, Theses & Dissertations

Welcome to the E J Richards Library

Open Monday-Friday 9-5pm and located in Tizard (Building 13), Room 4069.

It contributes a specialist supplement to the broader services provided by the Hartley Library and also provides a comfortable, quiet study area for Engineering staff and students.

External borrowers and other Southampton University staff and students are welcome to use the facility by appointment.

  • doctoral level theses submitted to this University are available from the Hartley Library; for more details see finding theses
  • post 2008; many of these are available online from Library Search

University of Southampton Undergraduate / Masters dissertations

  • some print copies of projects and dissertations produced by past Engineering students are available for loan from the E J Richards Library (see Finding printed theses and dissertations in the E J Richards Library below)
  • Note: normally the UofS libraries do not hold undergraduate or taught masters dissertations. If they are not available from the E J Richards Library students should discuss with their supervisor or enquire at their Departmental Office regarding any local arrangements for access to previous students' dissertations or final year projects
