Library Membership: Alumni

Use of the Library by Alumni, affiliates, SCONUL Access and members of the public.

How to begin using the Library again

For quick and easy access, we recommend you apply for the Smart ID/Library Card through the Alumni Office.

An application form is available from their website and they will issue you with a card.  We will use this card as you library card, including granting automatic access to the Hartley Library via the access control system (no need to sign-in).

Accessing Electronic Resources

As an Alumni member you will no longer have access to the full library electronic services, other than access to WebCat

However, we can offer limited provision to some e-resources to walk-in users.  Please email libenqs@soton.ac.uk in the first instance to discuss your needs.

Can I join the Library?

As a member of the University of Southampton Alumni Society, you have access to the services and facilities of the Library.

Full details of what the University offers are available from the Alumni website including information on how to order your Alumni ID Card

Borrowing

You can borrow items from our long loan and one week loan collections. Full information is available on the guide for borrowing as an external user:
