This workshop will provide you with advice and techniques for managing and organising your time, maximising opportunities for networking and socialising and understanding your assignment brief. It will also provide you with details of the support available to you from Enabling Services, whilst studying at University. Designed for students with a specific learning difficulty such as Dyslexia, this workshop will introduce essay-writing skills. Topics covered will include tips for breaking down the title and understanding the task, as well as strategies for planning and structuring your essay. There will be opportunities to discuss your own experience or queries. If you are about to undertake your first assignment or need to understand the feedback on an assignment to try to improve future marks, then this workshop can help you. This is part of a series of small group workshops, aimed at students with a specific learning difficulty, such as Dyslexia. Students may choose to attend Parts A, B and C, however there is no requirement to attend all three sessions.

Designed for students with a specific learning difficulty such as Dyslexia, this workshop is designed to help you maximize the critical content within an assignment. We will discuss critical thinking, what it is and why it is important. We will demonstrate active and critical reading strategies to help reduce your workload by helping you get what you need from text in a way that is efficient, reducing the need to go back and re-read text multiple times. There will be opportunities to ask questions related to your own work and share experiences with others, in a small, informal group setting. This is part of a series of small group workshops, aimed at students with a specific learning difficulty, such as Dyslexia. Students may choose to attend Parts A, B and C, however there is no requirement to attend all three sessions.

Designed for students with a specific learning difficulty such as Dyslexia, this workshop is designed to review the academic essay structure and writing style. We will provide advice and basic guidelines on sentence length and content, together with paragraph structure in academic writing. We will demonstrate editing and proof reading strategies such as ‘Reverse Outline.’ There will be opportunities to ask questions related to your own work and share experiences with others, in a small, informal group setting. This is part of a series of small group workshops, aimed at students with a specific learning difficulty, such as Dyslexia. Students may choose to attend Parts A, B and C, however there is no requirement to attend all three sessions .
