  • How many books can I borrow?

Loans information, including how many books you can borrow, how to issue and return books, automatic renewals, and information on how to place holds, can be found on the loans and borrowing pages.

  • Can I borrow books from other site libraries?

As a member of the University of Southampton, Winchester School of Art staff and students can borrow from any of the site libraries in the University system.

If items are currently on loan, they can be requested through Library Search.  Available items can also be requested to collect at WSA Library.

  • How can I request an item not in our collection?

To request an item that is not in our collection, login to Library Search and select 'Send a request'.  The inter-library loans team will get back to you when the item has arrived.

  • How can I return a book when the library is closed?

If you need to return an item outside of library opening hours then please contact us to make arrangements.

  • Can I visit and borrow from other libraries?

As a student or staff member at the University of Southampton you are entitled to apply for SCONUL Access.  This allows you to visit other academic libraries that participate in the scheme. In most cases SCONUL Access users can also borrow stock held in the libraries that they visit. The website has plenty of information and includes details on how to apply.
