Artists' Book Collection

Welcome to the Artists' Books Collection at Winchester School of Art Library.

The collection was started in the late 1960's. Since then it has grown and developed and includes a wide range of books in many formats, shapes and sizes. Particular strengths are contemporary British artist bookmakers: John Bently, Sarah Bodman, John Dilnot and Helen Douglas are well represented within the collection. The collection also includes books created or designed by University staff. In addition we acquire a range of books by students from the final degree shows.

We regularly visit artists' book fairs and meet artists in order to acquire new works.

All the books in the collection are catalogued and indexed on the University of Southampton Libraries catalogue WebCat. You can find them by searching using the keywords "artists' books", or by artists' name, book title or publisher.
