Online Reading Lists - What is all about?

The University Library’s online Reading List service gives you direct access to your module resources: books, journal articles, websites, videos and much more.

The Library’s Reading List team works in partnership with your module tutors to ensure you have access to the material you need.

How to access your Reading list?

  • Blackboard - a link to your reading list in embedded in your Blackboard site under "Books & Tools"
  • Reading Lists website - Go directly to the system itself https://soton.rl.talis.com/index.html
  • Library Search - There is a link to the Reading List system on the menu bar within "Links and Help"

If you cannot find your online reading list, contact your module tutor or email the Reading List Team.

What is included? 

   VIDEO GUIDE      TEXT GUIDE

  • Direct links to electronic resources like eBooks, articles or digitised extracts
  • Real-time information about library availability for print holdings 
  • Reading importance indications "Essential" or "Additional" 
  • Navigating the list using the Table of Contents 
  • Filtering your resources by item type, importance, format, and more 
  • Display your resources in your preferred referencing style, i.e. Leeds Beckett Harvard, APA or OSCOLA
