Library Exhibitions and Events: Want to exhibit with us?

The University of Southampton Library offers a varied programme of events and exhibition across its sites.

Want to exhibit with us?

We aim to present up to six exhibitions a year in each of the spaces, with the programme booked up to a year in advance. The programme reflects:

  • themed links with our diverse collections
  • promotion of the University’s Strategy
  • work celebrating and linked to the culture of Southampton, Winchester and the region

In line with the University’s goals, we will actively seek to:

  • champion equality, diversity, and inclusion
  • foster a sense of belonging within the communities studying in and visiting our spaces
  • encourage positive mental health and wellbeing
  • nurture curiosity and active citizenship amongst the people using our libraries

Criteria for selection

Proposals for exhibitions should match against the above criteria and must support the educational mission of the University and the Library and be aligned with our values. We welcome proposals from University staff, students and our wider community to use these spaces. All our exhibition spaces are open to the public during Library opening hours. In return for the free use of our spaces and publicity, through social media and other communication channels, please note that we are unfortunately not able to offer payment for the display of an exhibition. Details of each space are given below. If you have a proposal, then please do submit it using this online Gallery booking form. We will consider all proposals received and give an initial response within five working days.
