1st University of Southampton Library Summer Exhibition

This exhibition showcases artwork created by staff from the University of Southampton Student Experience Directorate in response to the theme of ‘transformation’. This theme was chosen to reflect the transformative work and projects currently happening across the University and in particular the Hartley Library Transformation project.

Staff have chosen to respond to their personal experiences of transformation, either in the workplace or at home using a variety of different materials and approaches.

As you move through the exhibition you will find shirts transformed into bunting, bees emerging from the pages of an altered book as well as poetry, sculpture, jewellery, textiles, collage and digital art. There is also the opportunity to handle a 3D model and interact with and make your own transformation of one of the artworks.
