How to request a digitisation

Reading List digitisation requests

The library offers a digitisation service for teaching material. That will allow you to make parts of selected print material available electronically to your students.

Once your request has been digitised, it's linked direct to your reading list for easy student access.

How much from a book or journal can I request for digitisation?

  • One book chapter or 10% (whichever is greatest) per book per module

  • Two articles or 10% (whichever is greatest) per journal per module

The service includes all necessary checks to ensure your requests comply with the University's CLA license; including attaching the necessary cover sheet, reporting to the CLA and all eligibility checks.

The full terms and conditions of the HE CLA license can be found here.

You can follow the written guide below. Alternatively, there is a 2 minute video guide.

To request a digitisation, open the 3 vertical dot menu to the right of the resource and select Request Digitisation.

A Request digitisation form will open.

Fill out the required fields: Chapter name, Start page, End page and select next.

When you do not know the chapter name, please enter the chapter number. If you don't know the page numbers, please enter 1 and 999.

You may have to scroll down to see all available options.

Select a Needed by date and make sure the Module Name and Module Code are displayed correctly.

You can also leave a Note for the library to give any further instructions.

You may have to scroll down to see the Submit button.

Once your request has been processed, we will inform you about the outcome.

When your request has been fulfilled we will change the reference of this extract in your reading list, displaying it as Chapter. We will include the chapter title, number(if available) and page range. See below.
