Collections on tour

The majority of the University Art Collection is on display across University of Southampton campuses. However, occasionally we loan works for external exhibitions.

LW118 Skjolden by Guy Moreton (photographic print, 2001-2005) is on loan to Le Delta in Namur for their exhibition Cabane.

Cabane is open 5th April 2025 - 20th July 2025.

From the Le Delta website (translated from French to English):

A contemporary art exhibition where the works play with the motif of the cabin and its imagination.

Cabane, the new event-exhibition at the Delta, takes you on a journey to discover a theme evocative of freedom and carefreeness. For the first time, 23 Belgian and international artists are gathered on two floors of the Delta, presenting more than 30 works on this universal theme.

Who has never built a cabin or dreamed of the free life it promises? Built in a room of the house with sheets, with branches in the woods, or with cardboard in the city, cabins dot our environment. Familiar as it may be, the object never ceases to fascinate. For the child, the cabin is a space of play and fiction; for the adult, it is an opportunity for a momentary retreat from daily life and its frenzy; for the migrant or homeless person, it is a necessary refuge; for the idealist, it is an instrument of resistance and struggle.

Ambivalent, it alternately embodies a place of comfort and a sometimes confusing and painful confrontation with the world. By reinvesting the popular motif of the cabin, contemporary artists invite us to re-examine its functions and imagination. This exhibition and the accompanying catalog aim to showcase the richness of this theme and its fertility for artistic creation.

Come and discover the sculptures, installations, photographs, and videos of around twenty Belgian and international artists: Atelier Van Lieshout, Karim Ben Amor, James Benning, Marianne Berenhaut, Gregory Crewdson, Raphaël Decoster, Nathalie Du Pasquier, Christian Fogarolli, Hreinn Fridfinnsson, Ryan Gander, Philippe Graton, Ken Isaacs, Michel Leonardi, Jacqueline Mesmaeker, Guy Moreton, Chalisée Naamani, Sophie Nys, Mathieu Pernot, Joanna Piotrowska, Walter Swennen, Adrien Tirtiaux, and Pierre Toby.
