EndNote and Reference Manager are two reference/bibliographic management programs that allow you to collect and organise references from your literature search - and then insert them into your write-up formatted in whichever style you choose.
Those are the two options fully supported in the University - but there are also a number of free alternatives that you can explore for yourself, including Mendeley, Zotero and (for the Mac only) Papers.
A comparison of three electronic reference management systems is available:
We provide guides for both EndNote and Reference Manager, downloadable from our pages on these resources. We also provide training sessions for staff and research postgraduates - find details of how to book a session on the respective guides.
There are a number of alternative reference management tools available. You'll find information about some of these in this guide - but the Library does not provide any formal support for any of these at the moment.
