Ocean Expert - Directory of marine and freshwater professionals OceanExpert is a product developed in 1997 under the auspices of the IODE Group of Experts on Marine Information Management (GE-MIM). OceanExpert is a free product but can be used only for non-profit purposes.
Global South Climate Database The Global South Climate Database is a publicly available, searchable database of scientists and experts in the fields of climate science, policy and energy. All experts on the database are nationals of at least one global south country.

Marine Science Co-ordination Committee The Marine Science Co-ordination Committee (MSCC) is composed of senior representatives of the major marine science funding Departments, the Devolved Administrations, the key marine science providers and four independent members. Established in 2008, in response to a House of Commons Science and Technology Committee Report, ‘Investigating the Oceans’, it reports directly to a group of Ministers, chaired by the UK Marine Science Minister. It is the successor body to the Inter-Agency Committee on Marine Science and Technology (IACMST). The MSCC has two main responsibilities: to deliver the UK Marine Science Strategy; and to improve UK marine science co-ordination. The MSCC published the first UK Marine Science Strategy in February 2010. It is a 15 year Strategy and was developed with significant input from the UK marine science community. Arctic Register of Marine Species
ASFIS list of species for fishery statistics purposes [FAO] ASFIS list of species includes 12 421 species items selected according to their interest or relation to fisheries and aquaculture. For each species item stored in a record, codes (ISSCAAP group, taxonomic and 3-alpha) and taxonomic information (scientific name, author(s), family, and higher taxonomic classification) are provided. An English name is available for most of the records, and about one third of them have also a French and Spanish name. Information is also provided about the availability of fishery production statistics on the species item in the FAO databases.

Geology of the Wessex Coast of Southern England Produced by Dr. Ian West a university geologist, long a time member of staff of Southampton University, now officially retired, with status of Visiting Scientist. This is a set of Geological descriptive pages on the Wessex Coast of southern England, much of it a UNESCO World Heritage Site ("Jurassic Coast"). East Devon, Dorset, Hampshire, West Sussex and the Isle of Wight. These geological webpages form one of the world's largest geological web sites with more than 100 separate web pages. The text in each webpage has linked references to the appropriate bibliography.

PESI - Taxonomic information on species occurring in Europe. PESI is Europe’s e-infrastructure for taxonomic information on species occurring in Europe. The portal contains nearly 450,000 scientific names, 240,000 valid (sub)species names, and 140,000 vernacular names in 89 languages (see statistics). The portal provides an integrated view of the major European checklists: Fauna Europaea (FaEu) for all European land and freshwater animals, Euro+Med Plantbase (E+M) with the vascular plants of Europe and the Mediterranean region, the European Register of Marine Species (ERMS) for species of the sea and coasts and the EU component of Index Fungorum (IF) for fungi. Still operating separately (different host institutions, committees, experts and servers) the register’s data is merged yearly in the PESI Data Warehouse and is available through this single portal. Tidal predictions The Applications Team has provided a national and international tidal prediction service since the 1920s. In fact, the modern methods of tidal predictions used throughout the world are based on the work of Dr. Arthur Doodson who was Director of the laboratory up until 1960. Predictions for over 700 standard and secondary ports around the UK, and for many international locations, can be computed to order. We are the sole provider of tidal predictions to the Environment Agency who are responsible for the issuing of flood warnings throughout the UK. NOC is also responsible for the installation, maintenance and running of the UK National Tide Gauge Network. This gives us access to high quality data which is analysed using the latest methods to produce a diverse range of tidal prediction products. All data is checked and validated. British Geological Survey - digital maps
General Bathymetric Chart of the Oceans (GEBCO) GEBCO's aim is to provide the most authoritative, publicly-available bathymetry for the world's oceans. It operates under the joint auspices of the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC) and the International Hydrographic Organization (IHO). GEBCO's data sets comprise two global gridded bathymetric data sets, the GEBCO_2013 Grid and GEBCO One Minute Grid and a global set of digital bathymetric contours, coastlines, trackline control information. The data sets are maintained and updated at BODC. GEBCO's grids are available to download from the internet. The full set of GEBCO's data sets are included in the GEBCO Digital Atlas (GDA) along with accompanying documentation and a software interface for viewing and accessing the data sets.

The National Map supports data download, digital and print versions of topographic maps, geospatial data services, and online viewing. Customers can use geospatial data and maps to enhance their recreational experience, make life-saving decisions, support scientific missions, and for countless other activities. Nationally consistent geospatial data from The National Map enable better policy and land management decisions and the effective enforcement of regulatory responsibilities. The National Map is easily accessible for display on the Web through such products as topographic maps and services and as downloadable data. The geographic information available from The National Map includes boundaries, elevation, geographic names, hydrography, land cover, orthoimagery, structures, and transportation.
