EndNote Desktop is reference management software that must be installed on individual computers.
EndNote Online (also known as 'EndNote Basic' and 'EndNote Web') is a simplified version of EndNote Desktop, it does not include all the more advanced features of EndNote Desktop, but can be accessed from any computer with an Internet connection.

Please note: Chromebook users will need to use EndNote Online (EndNote Desktop is not compatible).
9th May 2024 If you are using Word online via Office365 instead of the desktop version of Word with EndNote Online, you will not be able to use the in-house referencing styles. The online version of Word is using a different plug-in which is not yet enabled for custom referencing styles.
