Copies of all core and background texts given on the module reading lists will be available either electronically (online books can be accessed through our discovery tools, Library Search) or in print. Details of textbook provision is given in more details on the Student Resources pages.
If specific journal articles or book chapters are needed for teaching we may be able to scan them and add to our digitised collection. Note copyright restrictions apply and it is not normally possible to scan whole books.
Academics wanting to order new Library resources, either electronic (eBooks) or print books (available during campus opening hours only), for the ‘Library/Study Space’ should fill in the Library Resources Request Form or contact your Librarian by emailing libenqs@soton.ac.uk.
Note – we cannot send print books from the libraries in the UK to China.
However, you can use our increasing collection of online books - which are useful for both research and teaching. Search these collections through our discovery tools, Library Search.
The inter-library loan service sources items that are not available from our own stock and makes them available to you, our readers. You may make an ILL request for items not held at the University of Southampton. Restrictions may apply - visit the Inter-Library Loan web pages for more information.
