Key Subject Resources

If you're looking for journal articles, these are some of the key databases you'll need. You can see some other useful databases in the listing of Science and Engineering Datasets. All electronic resources can be accessed off-campus through the University's VPN service called Global Protect. Further information on how to connect to the University's VPN using Global Protect can be found here.

MathSciNet (EBSCO)
Provided by the American Mathematical Society (AMS). Contains references and, in most cases, summaries for journal articles, books and conference papers in the mathematical sciences, from 1940 to current. Over 100,000 new items are added each year and most are classified according to the Mathematics Subject Classification.

Previously called the Web of Knowledge. Provides access to a number of databases including Web of Science Core Collection (covering engineering, science, health, social science, humanities, etc.), BIOSIS (biological & biomedical science) and Inspec (physics, computing, electrical & electronic engineering, etc.). Select 'All Databases’ to search multiple databases simultaneously or choose an individual database.

arXiv provides open access to research papers in physics and related disciplines. It includes articles not yet peer-reviewed/ published and allows access to cutting edge research.
Jahrbuch Database (JFM)
Due to security reasons, access to The Jahrbuch Database has ceased.
The data will continue to be freely accessible via zbMATH Open, along with any additions.
