Open Access & Institutional Repository: Sage

This agreement expires 31/12/2025, articles must be accepted by this date to be included. There is currently a national negotiation ongoing for a new agreement.

This agreement is available to current UK based University staff and students, where the University of Southampton has underpinned the research; colleagues with honorary contracts and visitors are not eligible.

Open to all University of Southampton corresponding authors. Includes 900+ SAGE Choice subscription journals in the current SAGE Premier package, the IMechE Journal Collection and the Royal Society of Medicine Collection, which offer hybrid open access publishing.

• Authors in subscription journals do not need to take any action to benefit from this offer. 
• Publisher webpage with information on the Sage Read and Publish agreement with Jisc Collections.
• For articles accepted by 31/12/2025.

The deal does not include fully open access titles, but corresponding authors are eligible for a 20% discount in the open access cost (APC) for Sage fully open access journals. If your article acknowledges UKRI or CRUK funding and you would like to publish in a fully open access journal, please complete our APC application form prior to submitting your article to ensure we can cover the cost.
