The Springer Nature Read and Publish 2023-2025 agreement brings together Springer, Palgrave Macmillan, and Nature Research journals into one Read and Publish agreement.

Open to all University of Southampton corresponding authors publishing in hybrid journals.

Springer and Palgrave Macmillan agreement: original research and review articles, brief communications and continuing education articles in Springer hybrid journals

Nature agreement: research articles: this means Original Papers (which may also be referred to as analysis, brief communications, registered reports and technical reports) in Nature Research hybrid journals.

• This agreement is available to current University staff and students; visitors are not eligible
• Use your University of Southampton affiliation and email address during the submission process
• CC BY (Creative Commons Attribution) licence will be applied to your article
• Upon request to the journal, eligible authors may have their colour charges waived.

The deal does not include fully open access titles, but corresponding authors are eligible for a 15% discount in the open access cost (APC) for fully open access journals. If your article acknowledges UKRI or Wellcome Trust funding and you would like to publish in a fully open access journal, please complete our APC application form prior to submitting your article to ensure we can cover the cost.
